Insulated Metal Panel (IMP) Installer

Job Type: Full-time

Pay Range: $27.00 - $33.00 per hour, plus bonuses

Shift:

  • 8-hour shift
  • Day shift or second shift available

Our client is looking for experienced Insulated Metal Panel Installers to work at their Jacksonville facility.

This is a full-time temp to hire position.

Summary/Objective
The Insulated Metal Panel (IMP) Installer is responsible for the installation, assembly, and fitting of insulated metal panels using various industrial materials and techniques. This role requires knowledge of blueprint reading, measurements, and specifications to ensure the accurate completion of the erection system.

Essential Functions

  • Proficient in understanding job specifications, blueprint reading, measurements, and torque requirements for large industrial structural steel systems.
  • Ability to cut, prep, fit, and tack insulated metal panels (IMPs) and flashing from various material types into weld-ready status using isometric and structural drawings.
  • Skilled in using grinders, power saws, hand tools, and other equipment to prepare the IMP process as required by the job's specific requirements.
  • Strong structural aptitude with the ability to problem-solve and follow instructions effectively.
  • Accountability for completing daily work assignments while ensuring quality, safety, and health regulations are maintained.
  • Operate overhead cranes and forklifts while adhering to industry-standard rigging systems and techniques.
  • Supervise and efficiently direct two or more helpers on job tasks.
  • Document all quality reporting methods in accordance with SEA Quality Standards.
  • Complies with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements, and is physically/medically qualified to wear required PPE per OSHA standards.
  • Prepare for ISO 9001 and other audits.

Work Environment
This position operates out of a fabrication facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is sometimes exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations. Occasionally, the employee may be exposed to extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level can be loud in both environments.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly required to talk, listen, stand, walk, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally need to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Required Education and Experience

  • Basic math and language skills
  • Experience in grinding, welding, brazing, rigging, and cutting sheet metal
  • 2+ years of related experience or training

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in Insulated Metal Panel (IMP) installation
  • Vocational technical training is desired

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Must have dependable transportation, a valid drivers license, a clean background check, and consent to random drug screenings.
