Project Superintendent Position: Project Superintendent
Location: Baton Rouge, LA
Salary: Up to $80k – based on experience
Our client is a leader in the commercial roofing industry. They are known for their commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction, and offer services in new construction, re-roofs, and preventative maintenance across multiple states.
The Job The Project Superintendent oversees all aspects of the construction project, ensuring they are completed safely on time and within budget. Responsibilities include coordinating with subcontractors, managing schedules, monitoring quality control, resolving conflicts, and ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards. They also communicate progress to stakeholders and may be involved in hiring and training personnel.
Responsibilities - Supervising Construction: Overseeing day-to-day operations on construction sites, ensuring work progresses according to plans and specifications.
- Schedule management: Creating and managing schedules coordinating activities to ensure timely completion.
- Budget Management: Monitoring project budgets, controlling costs, and identifying cost saving opportunities.
- Quality Control: Ensuring that work meets quality standards and specifications, conducting inspections, and addressing any deficiencies.
- Subcontractor Coordination: Managing subcontractors, scheduling their work, and ensuring they adhere to the project requirements.
- Safety Compliance: Enforcing safety protocols, conducting safety inspections, and addressing any safety concerns to maintain a safe work environment.
- Stakeholder Communication: serving as the main point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any issues or concerns.
- Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving issues that arise during construction, such as design changes, material shortages, or conflicts between subcontractors.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and other legal requirements throughout the construction process.
- Team Leadership: Leading and motivating project teams, providing guidance and support to ensure everyone works effectively towards project goals.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of project activities, including progress reports, change orders, and correspondence with stakeholders.
- Client Relations: Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients, addressing their needs and concerns, and ensuring their satisfaction with the completed project.
- Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
- Upload all required information in shared software.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (technical training and experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the commercial roofing industry with a proven track record of successfully managing construction projects from start to finish.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and materials, as well as knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Ability to lead and motivate teams, delegate tasks effectively, and resolve conflicts.
- Organization and time management skills.
- Knowledge of and/or experience with all types of roofing.
- Valid and clean driving record.
- Pass State Police background check.
