Job Description
Purpose:
The Patient Care Coordinator plays a key role in supporting patients by managing prescription refills, updating billing information, and addressing any patient concerns. This position involves communicating with patients over the phone, redirecting calls to pharmacists when necessary, and ensuring all interactions are compliant with healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Build rapport with patients via phone calls to ensure clinical compliance and coordinate the next medication shipment.
Work with the order management and fulfillment team to ensure patient compliance and resolve any concerns raised during patient interactions.
Follow direction from pharmacists and leadership to maintain specialty call compliance programs.
Provide bilingual support (English and Spanish) in all Patient Care Coordinator duties.
Assist with additional projects and tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
1-3 years of customer service experience, preferably in a call center environment.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Bilingual in English and Spanish, with proficiency in medical terminology.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree.
1-3 years of experience in a specialty pharmacy call center environment.
Healthcare interpreter certification (e.g., Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters or the National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters) or willingness to obtain certification.
